The cost of your treatment will vary depending on your individual needs and treatment plan. We are in network with most major insurance companies which typically are great for benefits such as cleanings, exams, x-rays, and emergency treatment. After developing a personalized treatment plan we will discuss with you the cost of your treatment and each of your available payment options before you begin so that you can make the best choice for your health, your smile, and your family.
Affordable Payment Plans
Your smile is yours forever, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to receive the best dental care when you need it. For this reason we offer cash discounts, Care Credit, and other financial arrangements to ensure you can afford to maintain your health.
Our practice accepts most major credit cards and insurance plans.
As a courtesy to you our excellent team is always available to help you with insurance claims and paperwork. We will act as the liaison between you and your insurance provider to make sure that you get the most out of your dental benefits.
It is important to note that your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company and any unpaid balance is ultimately your responsibility. Dental insurance has become increasingly more difficult to work with over the past few years leading to many providers not accepting insurances. Multiple law suits have arisen and we are seeing a record number of denials nationwide.
At Valley Hills Dentistry we have a commitment to provide dental care at an affordable and reasonable cost so we stay on the cutting edge of insurance changes. Please let us know if you have any questions about your insurance benefits. We strive to maximize your benefits to their fullest extent.
Dental Insurance
In recent history, dental insurance has changed quite drastically. It is our mission at Valley Hills Dentistry to provide you with the best service while maximizing your dental benefits to their greatest extent.
With that being said, it is important that our patients understand how their dental benefits work. Insurance companies sell premiums to employers and individuals which is how they make money. Often times the smaller the premium the less coverage for patients. That is why some plans will help pay for braces while some will not even help with crowns and deep cleanings. They then are required by law to pay claims for which is stated in their contracts.
Premiums - claims = profit for insurance companies.
This goes to show that they have a financial incentive to deny, postpone, downgrade, and do lots of fancy things to get out of paying for the treatment that is recommended to improve your health; which can be incredibly frustrating. We work with your insurance company as a way to ensure your treatment is as affordable as possible because we value and believe in what we offer.
We know how life changing and important the services we provide are. But when dental insurance attempts to avoid paying claims we need your help. If this happens to you we can fight this together. We will file complaints to the state insurance commissioner, the insurance company, and fight these denied claims. What we need you to do is file a complaint with both the insurance company and your HR department. Dr. Shaw is passionate about ensuring that your dental plan holds up their end of the bargain.
